Level 2 Intermediate Apprenticeship in Improving Operational Performance (Performing Engineering Operations)
M I Glass, a Smethwick-based glass firm, has benefited greatly from selecting a young talent from Walsall College.
Harry Weston, who is undertaking an Intermediate Apprenticeship in Improving Operational Performance, applied for the post at M I Glass on the National Gov website.
I spend two days at Walsall College and the rest of the week is spent here at MI Glass. Im developing a lot of new skills, which is great as its building on the practical skills I picked up at college.
Harrys role involves an increasingly wide range of engineering duties and responsibilities.
I start the compressors in the firm and if there are any breakdowns, I would see what the problem is and then get them running again.
The next step on his journey is to pass his course. My plan is to finish my course and then continue with my apprenticeship and see where it takes me, he said.
